Spokane is a city located in eastern Washington state, in the United States. It is the second-largest city in Washington, after Seattle, with a population of around 220,000 people. The city is situated on the Spokane River and is known for its beautiful parks, outdoor recreation opportunities, and vibrant downtown area.

Spokane has a rich history dating back to the 1800's when it was first settled by Native American tribes.

In the late 1800's, Spokane became a hub for mining and timber industries, which helped to fuel its

Gonzaga University and Washington State University Spokane.

Some popular attractions in Spokane include Riverfront Park, which features a large fountain and an antique carousel, as well as the Spokane Falls, which are located in the heart of downtown. The city also has several museums and cultural institutions, including the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture

and the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox.

Spokane is surrounded by lakes and mountains making it an adventurous destination
for fishing, swimming, kayaking, hiking, skiing, and many more outdoor activities.

Spokane is also home to several annual events and festivals, including the Lilac Festival

and Armed Forces Torchlight Parade which takes place every May.

 

The city has several historic neighborhoods, including Browne's Addition and the South Hill, which

feature beautiful homes and architecture from the late 1800's and early 1900's. Spokane also has

a thriving arts scene with several theaters, galleries, and museums.

The First Friday Art Walk is a popular monthly event that showcases local artists and their work.
